authors opinions

How would the author view the way technology is normally used in school?
I think that the author agrees in censorship, and blocking all social networking sites from school computers.  "The average school day is about 7 hours long, and with computers now in every classroom, and student to teacher ratios often as high as 30:1, educators simply can't monitor what the kids are looking at all the time."  It is important for students to be actively engaged in the classroom and with distractions such as facebook or chat rooms, it is hard to pay attention.
What would he say about technologies we've used so far?
Even with Twitter, false statements are posted by educators.  It is a good way to get jobs and I think it is beneficial, if they are posting true statements then I think Keen would approve of us using it.  I do not think he likes blogs, because a lot of the information on them is found, and who is to say that the information presented is true.
What role would he say tech should have in education?
He would have teachers give students the opportunity to use the internet for only credible sources. There are research databases, published articles online, and many more options for students to find reliable information. Ultimately, Keen would only use the internet for research purposes in education, as long as they were from credible sources.

What suggestions would he make for using it in education?
He would have all social networking sites and chat rooms blocked from school computers. He would also stress that teachers help the students understand the difference between a reliable source and an unreliable source (ex: Wikipedia is not a reliable source for research purposes).
What might the author say students should learn about technology? (other than how to use it)
He would want us to be aware that not everything on the internet is true, and to keep that in mind when using all the different websites in our future professions.
